There was a break from league action as it was the second round of the two cup handicap competitions this week. The Lew Vale cup where players compete with individual handicaps and the Dare cup which has an overall handicap for the whole team.

In the Lew Vale competition the closest finish was in the game between Herne Bay B and Whitstable Natives A where the result was decided on the final leg of the doubles, the Bay side beating their Whitstable rivals 21/18 in the third end. A much wider margin separated the two teams in the match between Choughs G and CW9 where the Choughs team achieved a comprehensive 16/2 victory. The game between Faversham E and CW6 was slightly closer with Faversham taking the tie 14/6 and the final Lew Vale game saw a 11/7 win for Choughs C over Heron B.

There were three very tight finishes in the Dare cup, the closest being a meagre 5 point victory for Premier side CW1 against first division CW3. Two of the best young prospects in the league, Connor Russell and Kell Davies, faced one another and the game was a superb mixture of fast attacking shots from both players with Premier player Russell coming out on top.

Another tight finish came in the game between Blean C and Faversham E with the Blean side winning by just 16 points and 21 points separated Blue Lawn and CW7, the Blue Lawn team victors on the night.

All three Dare cup matches were decided on the doubles game which is testament to good handicapping by the committee.
