Canterbury and District Table Tennis Association
Week commencing 29/10/12

This week saw the first round of matches in the Dare Cup team handicap competition but regrettably there were no fewer than 11 entered teams withdrawing from the first round, leaving just seven matches actually played and of those seven matches not one involved a team from the Premier division. This is perhaps understandable given that most players in this division play in other leagues and have commitments but it’s a pity that as a result of this the lower division players won’t get the opportunity to play against the top players.

Of the matches actually played the all Division 3 clash between Herne Bay H and Blean C resulted in a win for the home side and the other all Division 3 game resulted in a win for Chestfield Warriors over Choughs E.

Division 3 side Warriors 6 beat the junior Warriors 11 team from Division 4 and another Division 4 team, Warriors 9, had a home win over Division 3 Blean D. Another all Herne Bay clash resulted in the E team from Division 2 beating the Division 1 D team and Blean A from the second division beat Division 1 team Choughs C.

The final match was a comfortable win for Division 1 team Warriors 2 over Division 2 Choughs D despite the two Choughs youngsters taking games from their more experienced opponents.
