CANTERBURY & DISTRICT TTA PRESS REPORT 29/12/2011

As the first half of the season comes to a close the state of the divisions now reflects which teams are in contention for honours and those thatwill struggle to stay up in their respective divisions.

In the Premier division current champions,Hoath A,maintain their grip on the title with a 7 point advantage over Iron Room A and a 16 point lead over Herne Bay A.Both the latter sides have lost to Hoath but the Bay have suffered a humiliating 9-0 defeat against Iron Room, leaving them further adrift.
At the other end Herne Bay B have accumulated just one point in 8 games and unless they have a radical change in fortunes look destined to go down.
Fellow strugglers,Chestfield Warriors 1,have picked up points after a poor start but still have a lot to do to avoid the drop.

Rough Common are looking very comfortable at the top of the 1st divison, but an interesting struggle is developing beneath them.
5 points behind them come Iron Room B,a side that has slowly worked itself up the table.
Behind them are Heron B,a side that promises much for the majority of the season but fails to make it count at the end.
Choughs B are in 4th place,a point behind Heron and one of these 3 sides behind the leaders will probably end up in second place.
Blue Lawn are struggling again, one off the bottom and 8 points clear of bottom side,Blean A,who are finding life in a higher division a struggle.

Chestfield Warriors 3 have asserted their authority in Division 2,sitting on top,12 points clear of Warriors 2.
Choughs C are 3rd,6 points behind and pose the biggest threat to CW2’s hope of promotion.
The outlook for survival for bottom side,Warriors 4,looks bleak as they still look for their first win of the season,8 points behind Blean C,who are 8 points behind Herne Bay G and will need a few more win if they are to escape the drop.

The 3rd division is headed by Dizzy Heights A,a side that won the 4th division last season and are looking a safe bet to take the 3rd division title.
They have held off the challenges of the three Warriors sides, but a slip up could well let in any of these sides and the second half promises to be a fascinating contest between these four sides.
Blean E are facing an uphill struggle, with no win in 8 games and already 6 points behind Herne Bay H.

The 4th division is dominated by two Faversham sides. The C side are on top but only one point ahead of the D side. The D side have the added advantage of inflcting the only defeat of the C side.
3rd placed,Dizzy Heights B,are 10 points behind, followed by Warriors 8,a point behind them.Choughs E are in 5th place with the advantage of two games in hand and they have the best chance of all to upset the sides above them.
