The current situation in Division 1 sees Chestfield Warriors on top with 30 points while,in second place, with the same points are Herne Bay C. The latter lost their opening game of the season against the leaders but have rallied strongly in their next 4 games.
Against Bay D they scored a 7-2 win and then a very significant 7-2 win over Whitstable Natives A that saw Bill Baxter pull off a worthy treble while Barry Cook responded for Natives by beating Ross Lejarde and Simon Lee.
In the match against Blue Lawn Lilac Time,Baxter lost his opening tie against Ricky Kay in 4 sets, but Bay proceeded to reel off the next 5 ties before Kevin Kay halted the slide with a win over Lee.Lejarde had to fight hard to achieve his treble over Ricky Kay,clinching it in the 5th set to give his side a 7-2 win.
Their most recent game was a hard fought encounter with Iron Room B.Baxter put Bay ahead with a win over Tim Lam,but Lejarde had no answer to the style of Michael Lee,losing in 4 sets and Simon Lee could not penetrate the defence of experienced veteran,Ted Tydeman. Lejarde eased past Lam while Baxter took out Tydeman in 3 sets. The battle of the Lees was won in 5 sets by Simon, but Tydeman coasted past Lejarde to bring Iron Room to 3-4. Simon Lee disposed of Lam in 3 sets and the final tie of the night saw a 5 set battle between Mike Lee and Baxter before Lee took the decider to limit Bay to a 5-4 win.

Blean A have emerged as the current leaders of Division 2,heading a group of 5 teams, separated by just 3 points. Paul Simmonds and Laurie Newman were unbeaten in their 8-1 mauling of Blean Lions.
Newman remained unbeaten in their 7-2 victory over Herne Bay G,but they were stretched a bit more against Herne Bay H. Pete Maton beat Mick Barwick in 4 sets but John Potter contained Derek Whiddett in the 5th set while Paul Davies scored a 4 set win over Newman. Whiddett got the better of Barwick while Maton had to go the distance with Davies before taking the 5th set. Newman took Potter out in 4 sets, but Davies bounced back for the Bay with a 4 set win over Whiddett to take the score to 4-3 in Blean’s favour. Newman completed a miserable night for Barwick in 3 sets and Maton completed a well earned hat trick with a straight sets win over Potter and a 6-3 win for his side.
Blean’s unbeaten run was halted as they crashed to a 2-7 defeat against Natives B,brought about by an unbeaten performance from Tony Causer.
Normal service was resumed against Warriors 2,but they let a 5-0 lead slip to an eventual 6-3 win. Eric Cawkill inspired Warrior’s fightback with wins over Whiddett and Newman but not before Simmonds completed a maximum to keep Blean just ahead of the rest in the division.
